How notes become chords
One octave on your keyboard is the chord octave. By default it's C3 to B3 (middle C is C3). What a key in that octave does depends on what else is going on:
- Hold a chord pad, or turn on Key mode, and the key plays a full chord with that root.
- No pad held and Key mode off, and the key plays as a normal note.
How to change the chord octave: Keys outside the chord octave always play as normal notes. Move the chord octave in (Settings > Keyboard > Chord Octave). The scale numbers on the key bed move with it.
